The Original Greenie String

Who Wins The Greenie?

Do you ever play "Closest to the Hole", aka "Closest to the Pin" (CTP), or "Nearer the Hole", or "Greenie"? Maybe even have carry-overs? Whatever the prize is, everyone wants to know for sure who is closer. This is a must-have accessory for competitive golfers.

Until now, you had to estimate, or someone would walk off the distance for each ball. Of course, the player doing the walking might "unconsciously" take slightly bigger steps to his/her ball, right? "Oh, sorry. I got you by half a step."

Or you would have to lay down the flagstick and count how many flagsticks and what fraction... This is a hassle and takes too long (and still might be subject to error).

The Greenie String solves this problem quickly and easily. There is 60 feet of non-stretch line, with a clasp that hooks onto the flagstick. This hot new accessory is easy to deploy so you can determine the winner without slowing play. To rewind quickly, just insert the Rewinder piece, align the line, and give it a spin! It rewinds in seconds, no matter how much is out.

Who Putts First? Are you OB?

It is important to know who is away, especially in a big golf match. If two players have the same line from opposite sides, someone is going to show the break to the other. And in Match Play, the player who is away must play first.

The Greenie String quickly and easily determines who is away, speeding play and eliminating doubts.

Another good use of the Greenie String is to conclusively determine if a ball is out of bounds or not. Just hook the Greenie String around one OB stake, let it unwind as you walk to the next one, and hold the line against the inside bottom of the stake.  If the ball is inside of the line, or touches it at all, it is in bounds.

PGA Tour Rules Officials carry a 60 foot length of string to use when there is a question about who is away on a green or whether a ball is in bounds or out of bounds. Now we can all be ready to quickly answer these questions with 60 feet of line in our pockets, just the size of a fat poker chip.

Use for Putting Practice

The Greenie String can be used on the practice green to help you line up and visualize how you hit your putts. You can hook the end to the little flag, or just put a tee in the ground right behind the hole. Then unwind the length you want to practice from and put another tee through the Greenie String to hold it tightly in place.

Now you can put a ball on the line and putt right up it. The line is very thin and won't affect the roll. No more chalk lines cluttering up the practice green and soiling your hands and clothes. Plus now you can leave that clunky device at home.

Compare The Greenie String to the RainDrop Putting Aid which is similar for putting practice but is bulky, only 20 Feet long, and can cost $60 or more!

Why it's Great

The Greenie String is the size of a poker chip. It fits in your pocket easily. It makes a great ball marker and is perfectly legal. The size is a benefit. It is easy to find in your pocket, easy to put down and pick up. It's easy to see from far away. Typically it is not in anyone's way, you use it just to clean your ball. If it is, just move it or replace it with a smaller marker, just like you do with any poker chip marker.

There is a spool of 60 feet of line with a unique hook on the end that clips securely onto the spool. You simply pop the hook off of the spool and hook it onto the flagstick. It spins to unwind as you walk to one ball. Simply secure it then walk to the other ball, and see which is closer.

It rewinds with a spin then the hook snaps back over the spool, keeping it tidy for your pocket. A must for any golfer.
